Trinidad and Tobago came ever so close to the gold medal in the men's hockey final at the 20Th Central American and Caribbean(CAC) Games.
In the end it was Cuba who celebrated following a hard fought and thrilling final that spectators described as"the best hockey final in CAC history".
It was high class ,end to end hockey as the two teams could not break a 2/2 deadlock during seventy minutes of regulation and twenty minutes of golden goal extra time .The match went to the lottery of penalty flicks which Cuba won 4/3.
It was a cruel twist of faith for a courageous T&T team that had battled back to level the score at 2 all when Cuba took the early lead.
More so for Wayne Legerton T&T's two goal hero.Legerton's joy by games end would turn to sorrow following his penalty flick miss that proved the difference between Gold and Silver.
The T&T women's team will battle Barbados in the bronze medal showdown.Yesterday T&T lost 6/1 to Cuba in the women's semi -final.
