The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC)will undertake a comprehensive review of all aspects of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The TTOC will expedite this process as the Central and American and Caribbean(CAC) Games is scheduled for July in Colombia.
"We need to assess the performances in Melbourne and continue the push forward.No games can be taken in isolation as we build up to Beijing".
"In this context the upcoming CAC Games is important .The expectation is that all our top athletes will make themselves available to represent the country at the CAC Games"said TTOC President Larry Romany.
The TTOC in partnership with the Ministry of Sport, National Governing Bodies and The IOC have established the infrastructure that provides financial support for selected Elite athletes.
In addition the TTOC is providing ongoing training foradministrators and coaches in areas such as talent identification sport science,nutrition and sport administration to name a few.
The High performance initiative is intended to increase this country's medal count at Games under the auspices of the TTOC.
In 1997 TTOC started the process of a rolling quadrennial by quadrennial strategic plan.The current quadrennial ends with Beijing.
In Melbourne the TTOC President and Secretary General held a range of formal and informal meetings as part of TTOC's ongoing commitment to implement best practices in all areas of it's High performance and total participation programmes.
The TTOC has worked closely with the Australian Institute of Sport,Canadian and British Olympic association and Olympic Solidarity in creating it's High Performance infrastructure.
