Yesterday the Trinidad and Tobago men's hockey team whipped Mexico 5-2 to advance to the final of the CAC Games hockey competition.T&T will battle Cuba for the gold medal.

The CAC hockey and badminton competitions are both taking place in Santo Domingo,Dominican Republic.

The T&T women's hockey team have also advanced to the semi finals and face Cuba today in what will be a tough battle to earn a shot at the making it to the finals.

The CAC finalist in men and women hockey will qualify for next years Pan Am Games in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil.

Meanwhile in Badminton two doubles teams advanced to the second round. Darren Charles and Glendon Thomas got past their Puerto Rican opponents in 3 games. Womens pair of Nikesha Blake and Kesma Benito will play today(Thursday) to advance to the third round.

Anil Seepaul and Kerwyn Pantin put up a spirited fight against very strong Cuban opponents before loosing both games 21 - 17 and 21 - 19. The 20 th CAC Games hockey and badminton competitions are both taking place in Santo Domingo,Dominican Republic.

100m Two finalists: Jacey Harper won his preliminary heat as well as Melvin Nero. Both 3rd in semis - Harper in 10.20 and Nero in 10.34

400m
Damian Barry 47.13 and Renny Quow 47.23 both were 3rd in prelims. In semis both were knocked out. Barry pulled up with an achilles tendon injury. May still be able to run the relay. Doctors to advise. Quow, a junior athlete finished in 46.30 to just miss qualifying for the finals and be ranked 9th in the event.

Women
100m
Ayanna Hutchinson finished 2nd in her semi in 11.50. Through to final. Semoy Hackett was 6th in hers in 11.76 and did not qualify.

400m
Both Ramona Modeste and Nickeisha Charles eliminated in morning semi final. Final won tonight by Ana Guevara of Mexico. Good Caribbean show thereafter - Hazel Ann Regis of Grenada 2nd and Kineke Alexander of St. Vincent 3rd.
