THE reign of Whyclife "Dave" Cameron as president of Cricket West Indies (CWI) has come to an end with challenger and former board member Richard "Ricky" Skerritt defeating the Jamaican in the elections held today at the Pegasus Hotel in Jamaica. Skerritt, a for­mer St Kitts and Nevis cab­i­net min­is­ter, will assume the role of president with his slate winning the voting process by eight votes to four.

A recent article in a Caribbean newspaper hinted that West Indies captain Jason Holder is too nice a guy to get the best out of his players. It suggested that he should get tougher with them and adopt the sergeant major approach that Allan Border, a former Australian captain, used with his players.

ST JOHN’S—Legendary West Indies captain Sir Viv Richards believes the poor run of results in the current series against Pakistan could be a sign that tensions between players and the West Indies Cricket Board may be reaching breaking point.
