Trinidad and Tobago’s Chief Justice lends support to the national bid to win ten or more Olympic gold medals by the 2024 Olympic Games (#10Golds24).  This bid is a project of the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC).

The Honourable the Chief Justice Mr Justice Ivor Archie O.R.T.T. and family will participate in the Trinidad and Tobago International Marathon to raise awareness for the initiative.

The Marathon planned for Sunday 17th January 2016 seeks to raise awareness and funds for the #10Golds24 Athlete Welfare and Preparation Fund, which was created in 2015 to support our nation’s athletes. The fund is expected to provide health and financial support for Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth athletes.

The Chief Justice is a longstanding advocate of health and wellness, with particular emphasis on youth development and sport as a way of engaging young people positively and encouraging them to lead productive crime-free lives.  His Lordship pledged his support and that of his family in December 2015 at the TTOC’s Youth Award Ceremony.   Members of the Judiciary’s fitness team, Xtreme Justice, will also join the Chief Justice in supporting the initiative.

The event consists of two races: an International 5K which takes place on Saturday 16th January; and the international Marathon Sunday 17th January, 2016.

The Judiciary has a Health and Wellness policy, which provides a holistic framework for the establishment and management of the health and wellness programmes for staff and members of Xtreme Fitness have been actively participating in events for the past year.

The Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago wishes the Chief Justice and his family, Xtreme Fitness and all other participants a fun-filled and rewarding race.
