THE ANNUAL Easter International Grand Prix, under the theme “Where Speed Meets Paradise”, will be staged today and tomorrow at the Arima Velodrome.
It’s shaping up to be the biggest and most exciting Easter International Cycling Grand Prix in T&T ever. With just four days to go before the official start at the Arima Velodrome on Friday, organisers have received registration from a whopping 260 cyclists from 12 countries for the two-day competition (March 25 and 26).
Britain’s Jason Kenny came from behind in the men’s sprint final to secure gold at the International Cycling Union (UCI) Track World Championships here today.
National cyclist, Njisane Phillip, will wrap up his lengthy training camp in Cali, Colombia, on Sunday, before heading to London for the final stage of his Olympic qualifying campaign — World Track Cycling Championships — which sprints off from March 2-6.
T&T’s top sprint cyclist, Njisane Phillip did himself a favour at the final leg of the 2015/2016 World Cup Season with a solid 8th place finish in Hong Kong over the weekend.
Trinidad and Tobago’s sole Olympic cycling hopeful, Njisane Phillip, touched down in Hong Kong early yesterday morning ahead of his penultimate 2016 Summer Games qualifier event – UCI World Cup Series third and final leg – which pedals off in Hong Kong on Saturday.
