President Paula-Mae Weekes has called on citizens to make concerted efforts to erase the stain of racial discrimination from Trinidad and Tobago as she marked International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which is observed today.

The National Steel Symphony Orchestra (N.S.S.O.), conducted by Mr. Akua Leith, was founded in 2007.

Brian Lewis, president of the Trinidad & Tobago National Olympic Committee and CANOC, issued a challenge to sport and to football in particular to do more to combat discrimination in all its forms.
