(Ottawa, Ontario – December 21, 2020) – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) assures athletes that the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 (SARS-Cov-2) vaccines that will be administered in Canada do not contain ingredients that are on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) Prohibited List. 

Today, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) publishes the 2020 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods (List); the 2020 Summary of Major Modifications and Explanatory Notes; and the 2020 Monitoring Program. The List, which was approved by WADA’s Executive Committee (ExCo) on 23 September 2019, comes into force on 1 January 2020.

MINISTER OF Sport and Youth Affairs, Shamfa Cudjoe, has reassured the delegation at this year’s seventh UNESCO Conference of Parties (COP) to the International Convention against Doping in Sport in Paris, France, of TT and the Caribbean’s commitment to the fight against doping in sport.

Trinidad and Tobago Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Hon. Shamfa Cudjoe has fully committed to the fight against doping in sport in the Caribbean.
