T&T OLYMPIC TEAM TTO PARTNERS

Its an Olympic year. Ensuring T&T athletes are the best prepared they have ever been is the focus of the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC).

On the 5th August the opening ceremony for the first ever Olympic Games in South America will be held and Trinidad and Tobago's Olympic athletes will be part of the parade of nations in Rio de Janiero.

It will be this country's 17th appearance at the Summer Olympic Games and T&T will be hoping to add to its 18 Olympic medal count.

President of the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee(TTOC), Brian Lewis, will again compete in the walker's division of the Trinidad and Tobago International Marathon on January 17th, 2016 to continue the efforts to raise funds for the TTOC #10golds24 Athlete Welfare and Preparation Fund which will be used to help fund athletes preparing for Olympic Games.

Launched last year, the athlete dedicated Fund will provide financial assistance to Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games athletes to enable them to train, recover and compete.

The long-term vision of the Fund will be for Trinidad and Tobago to secure 10 or more Olympic gold medals by 2024.
Last year Lewis completed the grueling event in just under 7 hours.

TTOC corporate partner Guardian Group led the way and gave $250,000 TT to the #10Golds24 athlete welfare and preparation fund for the succesful completion of the full marathon distance.
