The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee(TTOC) 2006 Olympic Youth Camp opened yesterday at the Audio Visual Room of the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Feature speakers on the day included Sanian Lewis a 2003 Olympic youth camp graduate.Eighteen year old Lewis is now on a full tennis scholarship at Tuskegee University in Alabama.

The former Providence Girl's school footballer represented T&T at the 16 age group in Tennis at regional team tournaments in Cuba and Costa Rica.

The Alabama based freshman in her address told the 2006 Olympic youth campers that many of the things that she learn't at the Olympic youth camp have proved of "tremendous benefit" as she makes the transition to University life as a student/athlete.

She urged the campers to enjoy the experience but "listen well".Noting that lectures on exercise physiology ,sports psychology , nutrition ,goal setting and the importance of having a development plan proved particularly beneficial.

Lewis whose goal is to represent T&T at the Olympic Games and Fed Cup said that achieving excellence in sports requires a lot of hard work and sacrifice but it will be worth it at the end.
