Archery has been around for millennia used by natives from all corners of the globe implemented in hunting, fishing, warfare and competition. The International Archery Federation (FITA) is the international governing body for archery founded in 1931 in Lwow, Poland. FITA has over 140 member associations including the Trinidad and Tobago Target Archery Federation.
Archery was part of the Olympic Games from 1900 to 1920 and was discontinued in Paris 1924 because of the inexistence of the governing body. It was reintroduced in the Munich 1972 Olympics and has been part since.
