HEAD of the local organising committee Ephraim Serrette believes the Commonwealth Youth Games TT (CYGTT) 2023 is an opportunity to showcase the quality of local venues which will support this country’s sport tourism drive.

CHAIRMAN of the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SporTT) Douglas Camacho said all local sporting venues will be ready for the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, including the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet which will stage the track and field events.

Ephraim Serrette, the newly appointed chairman of the organising committee of the T&T Commonwealth Games Association (TTCGA) for next year's hosting of the Commonwealth Youths Games (CYG), has stated the budget for the event to be hosted both in Trinidad and Tobago will surpass $35 million.

The Caribbean nation will retain the right to host the postponed edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2023.

Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee President Diane Henderson heralded the signing of the official host contract for next year’s Commonwealth Youth Games as a "momentous occasion".
